The Mid-Country Fire Protection District has apparatus that includes: a custom rescue engine, 4 additional engines, 6 tankers, 7 brush/EMS trucks, a 75' ladder truck, a fuel/utility truck, 2 fireboats, a customer service/training van, a dive team truck and trailer, a light rescue truck, a command vehicle and 2 staff vehicles.
The tankers hold 2000 gallons of water. The Engines hold 1500 gallons of water. The 6 engines can also be used as tankers. The brush trucks hold 108 gallons of water. Carrying water on our trucks is critical since we have very few fire hydrants in our district. While it seems like we are fortunate to have a lake as a water source, not all access is suitable for drafting sufficient amounts of water to provide water for fire-ground operations. Access may not be possible due to steep or obstructed ramps or water level issues.
We, the members of the Mid-County Fire Protection District, dedicate our efforts to provide for the safety and welfare of the public through preservation of life, property and the environment.
